Women Online Shopping Behavior

ShopSmart magazine, a decision of consumer reports, did a poll on female shopping trends in the spring of 2007 that I just uncovered here.  There are some interesting things to know when you’re marketing to women.

It includes some pretty interesting data about the way women shop online.  Women are spending an average of 1.2 hours a week shopping online, which represents more than half of their weekly shopping time.

One-third of women shopping online report having a negative experience.  20% said they never received the item they ordered.  13% said the item was different than advertised.  And this number is astonishing… 451,588 women claim to have had their credit card number stolen online in the last 12 months.

I’ve been shopping online for years and never had a credit card number stolen (or "phished").  Maybe I’ve been lucky.

Readers have you ever had your credit card number stolen from an online transaction?  Were you able to successfully track the unsecure site?  Comment below and tell me your story.
